back in high school, during senior year, before i started reading trp- i was talking to this girl who i would go on casual dates with. She was technically my friend first, but i think we grew to like each other. we would really enjoy spending time together and would flirt a lot. But i dont think either of us were sure what we wanted to do. Also, i was pretty beta back then.

Eventually i told her i really liked her and that we should take this to the next step. i was going away to buff for college tho and she told we shouldnt try long distance relationships. So i was like, how about we fuck around during the summer? try a friends with benefits summer fling kind of thing. at that point she told me shes afraid she'll catch feelings, but that she'll think about it. back then i told her she could just say no, it big deal. but she refused to answer no and kept telling me maybe or she has to think.

back then, i think she had other options so she didnt have to give me a final answer. i also might have did a bit too much chasing prior, which turned her off. either way, looking back now (after reading trp) i know her words meant nothing and that she pretty much wasnt interested in doing a summer fling. however im pretty sure she had some kind of feelings for me.

im just trying to learn based off old experiences, but what should i have done differently back then? pls remember this was before i read trp, so i have some kind of idea of what i would now but still would like to hear your thoughts thanks
