availability of information

Hi all!

I'm a psychology student and longtime lurker on the sub who hopes to graduate as a sexologist in a few years. I have a question that I'd like answered for a project I'm doing, regarding sexual education and general information about relationships, dating etc.

I feel like in school they teach you the general basics about sex up to a point where you know the biology. Later on you can find answers to more informal questions about sex, dating and relationships on cosmopolitan etc, but not that many high quality places.

I understand that the people on this sub are generally more active in searching for the right information (the guides on this sub are a perfect example), but because of the stigma this sub has, a lot of people miss this info.

So basically the problem is that the information on sex, relationships etc are hard to find in good quality.

So my questions are:

Before finding this sub, or maybe still, do you feel like this is a problem for you?
Why/ why not?
Do you want this solved?
What do you do now (or did you do before finding this sub) to solve this problem?

Well it's also information on dating and relationships and that's what seduction is mostly about. It's true that the information is readily available. However, looking at /r/seduction, the sub has a tendency to provide information for the goal of seducing greater numbers of women to sleep with men (simply put). The same information could (slightly altered) be used for people like myself who are merely looking to find one partner and keep them happy.

My problem is that this subs goal does not align with mine, yet the information is often useful. People are missing out because of the most notable goal here, because of the different target group it focuses on. That's nothing against this sub, it's good for that purpose, but I think people are missing out.

edit: the reason I ask this question here is because most people here come from a place of doubt about their abilities and many have changed these for the better. I see a lot of role-models here that I'd like an opinion from.

People are missing out because of the most notable goal here, because of the different target group it focuses on.

A good majority of the people who post here do not read the sidebar. Are you sure you understand how relationships and people work? If it makes you feel better, I am a Psychology major that is less than a year away from getting my Bachelors.

That's nothing against this sub, it's good for that purpose, but I think people are missing out.

You know you can start your own subreddit. I started one. Right now it needs some work, but it is called r/seductionguides.

I will say that the this sub is more for people who are trying to be a PUA or become one. Most people do not know the true definition of seduction, let alone seduction techniques.

However, looking at /r/seduction, the sub has a tendency to provide information for the goal of seducing greater numbers of women to sleep with men (simply put).

I will say that that when it comes to seduction it is better to focus on the numbers. There have been plenty of people who have posted here with the goal of getting a relationship. The problem is that the rules of relationships are not clear and getting with a woman is not as easy as some people make it look. It is often a game of trial and error. Sleeping with people is a side effect of looking for a relationship sometime. We could argue relationships all day. I happen to favor Behaviorism when it comes to Psychology.

People are missing out

Have you not notice that self improvement is a major thing in this sub. The people often want people to work on themselves before they learn how to properly get with women. A redditor also pointed out the major flaws of a few major pickup artist.

I would love to see one of your guides of how seduction should be.

The people who are missing out are the men and women who are in a relationship or are looking for a relationship but have problems with love, dating, relationships and/or sex. They often look at cosmopolitan or yourtango.com. Stuff like that. These sites don't give any good information

Don't you study how the media affects people? Do you even look at cultures and the many parts of the world? Almost everyone has a relationship problems. A good portion of marriages end in divorce. There is no real solid information on relationships. Sex is another subject that is broad and differs depending on age, body type, culture and so on. Then if you want to be honest, its hard for most people researching this stuff to find funding. You ever wonder why people come out of college with over a 100,000 debt and feel like they have not learned anything? This is because a lot of stuff taught in different majors are hard to prove and even harder to sell. Most people are still trying to verify stuff from a hundred years ago. There are professors and scientist that can argue that love does not exist. I am not doubting people in love. What are you saying? A person that is good in research can make you rethink anything.

if there was a problem before finding this sub, is because there is a likelihood that this sub has made the problem disappear.

I do not think this sub makes the problem disappear, I think it helps people get better at handling the problem.

So to get the skulls to make it work you meet a lot of pratice. To get relationships with realy great women you have to become really grate at the dating game /relationships. You not going to improve these aspects very much if you don't go out and work on it.

Relationships are skills rather than knowledge. So to get skills you have to learn knowledge then learn how to apply it.

That's why it advocates praticing a lot.

And there is no reason you can go out meet girls in clubs take their numbers and start dating them letter. You will have less sex and less second dated that way but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Models by Mark Manson is often recommended on here it is much more a relationship book than a pick up book.

If you want we could talk on the phone or Skype or something, I think I could give a better explanation that way
