Backstory: I've had a few long relationships but the last one ended 3-4 years ago. I'm 31 now, have plenty of one night stands, fuck buddies and all that but am dying for a girlfriend to come home to and love.

Situation: The other day I went with an ex girlfriend of mine (still a fuck buddy) to a shop to buy some stuff for a hobby we both share and are passionate about. We spent over three hours there, spent a ton of money.

This new girl works there and is a smoking hot 9/10 (hot girls in this world are about as common as hot sysadmins). While casually chatting I found out she's in to this hobby of mine in a very specific way, matching my "preferences" exactly (something like her favorite car and model matches mine exactly and we both own the exact same one). Also found out she lives in the town where I grew up.

So there was a very noticeable "hey this is really cool, we have stuff in common" vibe between us. She came forward and asked me a bunch more questions, seemingly interested;

I didn't want to be a douche and ask for her number, since she was working, attending to other customers. So instead I wrote my number down, went over to "thank you for all your help today and here's my number if you ever want to go [do stuff related to this hobby], or have a drink, give me a call" and she said "ok cool thanks!". I left immediately since she was attending to customers. I know that not being pushy / needy / annoying goes a long fucking way.

I've really never met anyone that ticked my boxes in so many ways after such a brief encounter. My only worry is that she assumes I was there with my girlfriend and that I'm an ass for sneaking behind her back to hit on other girls. I couldn't see how to drop in a "oh btw that is not my girlfriend" without sounding like a douche.

SO my questions is: assuming she is as interested as I am, do most girls have the "balls" to call up a guy after such a brief encounter? Or was a I douche, being all "hey baby gimme a call"? Or should I go back to this shop? That would seem quite stalker like.

tl;dr: Met a girl that ticked all my boxes, wonder if girls generally do call guys after getting their number?
