There is a Union Street festival this Saturday in North Beach. It's pretty fun where you can grab a beer and food in the park. Plus it's free and full of festive people.

I am by no means an expert on the area, but some suggestions to get you started:

I have yet to take a date to Blue Bottle Coffee and have them not be impressed. Fucking amazing coffee, served at a classy, contemporary cafe.

As far as bars in San Francisco go:

83 Proof - One of the classiest bars I've been to. Great cocktails and whisky selection. Great atmosphere.

Zeitgeist - If you are a hipster. Large outdoor smoking area.

City Beer Store - If you are a beer nerd and she likes beer.

On the haight, Toronado - full bar, phenomenal beer selection, hard rock haight vibe.

For the after drinks munchies - El Farolito right outside the entrance of the 24th st. Bart. They claim to have invented the San Franciso burrito. Whatever - fucking amazing mexican food and open till 2am.

In Tokeland?

You could try

Hotsy Totsy trendy dive bar

Trappist Belgian beer extravaganza

and as Thelonious_Cube suggests, check out Chabot Space Science center. They have a mind-blowing show called Sonic Vision in their planetarium.

Oakland can be quite nice (depends on the area).

The Exploratorium is not just for kids and well worth the time and effort.

Golden Gate Park is full of great stuff including the de Young Museum, the Academy of Sciences and the Japanese Tea Garden (all great, but also probably crowded as hell on Saturdays), but also a ton of different cool landscapes and areas to wander through.

In Oakland, check out Lake Merritt/Lakeside Park, the Rose Garden, Chabot Space Science center, Joaquin Miller Park, Piedmont Ave, the Mountain View Cemetary, Sibley Regional Park (great panoramic views), M'ua on Webster, etc.

Then there's Berkeley....

The exploratorium maybe a bit young for you, I used to go there a lot in elementary school. You should check out the academy of science which will probably be a lot more interesting. There also open the academy of science at night for adults, you should check that out.
