I go to a tech school also and know how this goes man. A joke at our school is "girls are like parking spots: all the good ones are taken, getting pulled out of, or handicapped".

The keys i found was getting involved in on campus clubs, being sociable in general with people, going out to the college bars around you. Friends of friends are big in finding single women. Also going out to house parties with friends can turn up some good results. Always different crowds mixing together. I think your idea of the social scene is worse than it is. A lot of "neck beards" claim there is no social scene at our school but there is plenty going on. Talk to people and things will come.

Have you considered rushing a fraternity? Also friends of friends are where it's at.

You could start by providing more info. The easy answer is that you read up on pickup and apply the principles every opportunity you get to talk to an attractive girl, and create your own opportunities to get in front of the ladies. The hard answer is to transfer to a big southern state party school :) But if you tell more about exactly what the challenges are we can help better.
