I have to say a big thank you to seddit. When I first found out about this subreddit, I came to read to have a laugh because I thought that it would be a bunch of douches talking about how they totally got laid last night. I was totally wrong and I gotta say that you guys have helped me to be a lot more confident. So on with the FR.

I had to go see my advisor about trying to get classes, which is notorious for taking the full two hours just to get in. So I brought a book with me, as in typical, but the book soon went with the wind. I saw HB7 waiting too and she said hi to me. A little backstory: HB7 and i had a lecture and lab (for that lecture) together last quarter. Since she sat at the opposite end of the lab room and (as I soon found out) she never came to lecture, I never had the chance to talk to her. Back to the FR: I said fuck reading, its time to make seddit proud. I opened with her using the class and lab as an easy opening comment. She was smiling a lot and things soon turned away from academics to personal interests. I found out that she is on our college's soccer team. This leads into my DHV. I'm on a collegiate rock climbing team (through an odd occurrence of events we haven't been recognized by my college as being associated with them). This is where I start to stumble. HB7: "You must have a great upperbody" me: "Ya, it's getting there" Lets be serious, I'm a competing rock climber, I have an awesome upper body. I didn't want to sound cocky for obvious reasons and I didn't want to say something stupid like "Well maybe you will find out" because I wasn't trying to game her really hard. So, my first question: what do I say in that situation? I have a feeling that a similar situation will come up because it is my go-to DHV and I need to have something good to say. She gets called in to see one of the advisors and says that she will see me when she gets out. Soon after I get called in to see the other advisor and I end up getting out before her. I was unsure whether to wait for her because she thought that I was going in after her and I didn't want to look like a fool telling her that I waited up for her (though now that I type this, it doesn't seem foolish). So I jet, and wish that I got a #-close. Question 2: We didn't have any classes together anymore, so what would have been a good way to get a #-close? I feel that if I had a good line, it would have easily happened.
