Long time AFC here.

Typical "nice guy" during high school. Was very close friends with a girl for two years, always thinking she'd realize how great we were one day. She made out with a guy in front of me at a party. Heartbreak.

Optimistic about first year of college. I quickly realized my religious schooling seriously screwed up my ability to act natural around / flirt with women. Dated a girl for a few months who ended up walking away without so much as an explanation. More heartbreak.

Family troubles mixed with self-induced isolation at school led to some very dark thoughts I'm not proud of.

This summer I stumbled upon reddit, and by extension seddit. There wasn't much opportunity to put it to use during the summer in my hometown, but I made the best of it.

Back at school, I've been reading Seddit daily and putting what I've learned into practice. Every social situation, whether it's a party or class discussion, has become an experiment. I can see the mistakes I would have made a year ago. So I spent the first semester practicing what I've learned. Results:

I have more confidence than ever. I think this is the most important one. It not only affects my interactions with women, but also with other guys. My newfound optimism even helps me perform better in class and work.

I spent the night with an amazing girl last night. The 2009-10 version of me would have been friendzoned long ago.

Every day seems a little brighter, and I wanted to take the time to thank you all for literally turning my life around.
