So, I'm confused as to the motives of Brandy, whether it viable to pursue her again?

it probably WOULD have been if your frame was good when she opened up that little window for you. the window could very possibly be closed now.

So I THINK my approach will be to shoot her a txt after she txt's me . saying something like: I can't be going out for drinks with a girl I want to sleep with, after today.

NO KNOCK IT OFF GOD DAMMIT. just wait. clearly the fact that you are banging brittany has brandy bothered in some way. there are odds that she is bothered because now she wants a piece. use this to your advantage. if you keep saying shit like, "you know i like you" and "i would sleep with you," then you validate her ego and she doesn't feel that bother anymore. you need to essentially take advantage of the fact that she's feeling jealous and ride the wave to the bedroom, instead of defusing it immediately, as you seem so hell-bent on doing. keep banging brittany, it's driving brandy nuts. don't fall into the trap she's set of saying a bunch of bad shit about brittany, that means you're going off of her frame instead of yours:

Yeah definitely stay Alpha and don't go to her silly Open Mic event. If you do, go and chat up other people, DHV, rather than hang around her. On the banter over the phone, she is probably just having a jab. Girls like to mess with your head and send you teasing IOIs just to test their influence over you. If you start liking them right away when you find out they might be interested, it makes you Beta. You should go definitely maintain contact though and indirectly invite her to events. Like if she asks what you're doing, let it be something interesting, and welcome her to join but don't ASK if she wants to come. And I would reword it simpler like "Can't go out tonight. A girl wants to buy me drinks" Also, I think mentioning that you want to sleep with that girl, when you can't show a playful and joking tone is bad. You want to mean it, without meaning it. She'll do the reading between the lines.

Why did you tell her you like her? Don't get one-itis with this girl. She shit-test you and you failed. Next time she comes around just tell her you don't like to talk about other people behind their back. She will respect that.

She knows of your other relationship, and now wants your attention. Don't give it to her until she earns it.

Keep what you got until you know for sure you can get something better. This brandy girl got your nuts in her hand and she knows it because you said,

I think you should play a power/fuck you card, like you were originally planning on doing.

"Not coming out tonight. Brittany could be something real. I'm not in the mood for games right now, don't have the energy for the run around tonight."

If she wants a go, then she'd say something like, "im not gaming right now, come by and have a drink". If not, then you would have planted a seed, your loyalty points just went up a lot. She probably know you been sleeping with Brittany, girls talk a lot. Dont end up being a dick in a glass jar.
