Some background information: I'm 21, shy, and a very typical AFC. I've never dated or had an intimate relationship with a girl.

After work two co-workers (both of whom are happily in relationships) and I went to a bar and sat down at a table to drink and discuss random stuff. Out of no where, three girls (who were in their early 20s and were very attractive) sat down with us and the beginning of the conversation went something like this:

[girl A] "You guys sound like you're discussing something very important... are you guys planning the next Facebook or something? ... and you with the glasses (looking at me), are you the nerd behind this?"

[me] (awkwardly) "Haha, yeah."

[co-worker A] "Yeah, we work together at [company X]."

[girl A] "Oh, so do you guys know about the ipv4 problem, and will that affect our ability to use the internet?"

[us] (discussing ipv4)

Eventually we get onto the topic of art and at this point [co-worker A] is the one driving the conversation and he gets into a heated argument with [girl B] for saying that art is all about money. [co-worker A] was quite drunk and raising his voice and [girl B] was defending his attacks and said that he shouldn't be attacking strangers like that. I didn't know what to do at the time so I just sat there and listened to them argue for the sake of arguing. Eventually they left, and shortly after the bar closed.

Overall, I had a fun night and I was surprised and delighted to know that girls do join male groups (and that it's not always the men who join girl groups). I was also surprised to know that there are good looking women out there who have some knowledge of internet addressing systems.
