Eye contact has always been a difficult thing for me, especially maintaining eye contact. My trick for this is simple: look at the bridge of their nose or between their eyebrows instead of locking your gaze with theirs; I've heard it called a salesman's technique, which you are to a degree in seduction. It eliminates the weight of having to maintain prolonged eye contact, yet to the subject it appears as if you are.
