ok buddy, just for you, i'm going to get down to the nitty gritty and put on my rebuttal hat. here it goes.

I came here after seeing /r/seduction mentioned in comments alot lately. I thought it might be a sub worth reading; I was wrong. It honestly comes off as /r/circlejerkforguyswearingtapoutshirts.

i don't think you've been here very long? i understand that inherently, discussing successes with women can be a bit bro-like, but i also see three failure FRs on the front page as i write this. I can personally attest to the fact that I am not quite a tapout jersey shore bro, im a skinny white boy with a white boy fro. i know throwawaypua is an oldhead, and tofutofu is (self-proclaimed) as overweight.

anyway, what i'd like to point out here is that your opening statement is an attempt at an insult. i'll let that stand as is.

My qualifications? Im getting married in 3 months to a blond, busty, doctor. I can usually be found with HB8's (am I doing it right?) at the beach, bars, shooting range, etc. I often get complements from girls on things I dont really put thought into. In the last month Ive turned down sex twice with two diffrent girls.

This means you're already doing it right and don't need our help. you've ingrained all of the good habits about interacting with women, so that it feels like you are doing little to nothing when in fact you're hitting all the marks. I was drinking with one of my coworkers (HB8.3) at a dive bar and lame pickup lines came up. I mentioned how I never understood how I do so well with chicks because I have absolutly no "game". and how Im dumbfound how Ive never had a problem getting laid. At this point shes looking at me like Im retarded. She explains to me that not trying to run "game" is the best "game".

well this segue from "lame pickup lines" to "game in general" is silly, as if game consists purely of the first thing one says to a woman. And it's normally a bad idea to take advice about seduction from women, but your friend has a point. if you tell a jazz musician to "just go with it" and not think so hard, just "feel the music" then he will wind up with a soulful, genuine product. He wasn't "thinking about the game." Tell that same bullshit to some kid who's never picked up a guitar, and you're going to hear an unpleasant tune. (also, the jazz musician needs to concentrate off stage to improve, whereas his improvised performance is simply the culmination of his previous learning.)

"You just talk to girls, always be yourself, and you're confident when you do it. Thats why all the girls at work want you." Wait, what? The next day I confirm this with another fem coworker. I had no clue the flirty conversations werent just bullshit.

well all we have to do is talk to the girls, be ourselves, and be confident when we do it? DISMANTLE THE SUBREDDIT OUR PROBLEMS ARE SOLVED.

I dont think im an amazing looking guy (see my past posts for proof.) and I can be pretty geeky and odd (again see past posts.), but it doesnt have to be a barrier. I think not really trying because Im spoken for might play a role in the perceived confidence, but not trying is alot easier than some of the efforts Ive been reading about.

i'm not adept at rating men but youre probably an 8, maybe a 7 on a bad day. "geeky and odd" as well as "nerdy" and "dorky" are completely bankrupt terms at this point, completely divorced from their old meanings of "socially awkward and annoying in general" and now redefined to mean "someone who has sneezed near a copy of a superhero movie in the last 10 years."

All this crap about being the dominat male, "neging", and fucktarded "openers" really should be thrown out the window. When it does work for you, they know whats going on; they're humoring you. If its what you like to do with your evening, fine. Im just sharing my experince.

i'm not throwing any of this shit out the window, because i know it works. i've proven to myself that it can work, and am reasonably certain that most other men can apply this and have similar results. Are there not behaviors that are repulsive to women? if i came up to a girl picking at my crotch and said in my most nasal voice "HI I THINK YOURE REALLY PRETTY" would that not virtually guarantee that the girl reject me in some way?

So if there are behaviors that repel women, there are behaviors that attract them as well. and we learn them and trade them all up in this subreddit. It's about as scientific as this shit gets - we try things out all the time, testing hypotheses. telling us we are wrong is absurd - we've seen you disproven over and over again already.

TL;DR - You can easily get everything from a one night stand to a wife just by being yourself. Talk to girls like you would talk to your guy friends. (then put your dick in them)

Im all for "seduction" and haveing a good time etc. whatever... Its just that this brand of "seduction" feels like it was scraped off of the jersey shore. I dont know; theres just a lack of any sorts of reality. Im supprised that there is 22,000 people reading this sub. But like I said However you want to spend your evenings...

I agree with what you say only to a limited degree. Some people do not have that confidence that other people do - I know I didn't have it in the past - and this subreddit helps them build it up, starting with 'canned' techniques until they understand true confidence and whatnot. Just my opinion - this reddit isn't the full solution, but it gives you the way to find your own solution.

There is talk about seduction (what you see on seddit) and then there is action.

A lot of what happens here is getting guys to stop reading about seduction and to start approaching women. These same guys will then freeze after they've said "hi" or even more likely start talking about something that will bore the woman (or worse, creep her out). So we talk about things to say. Then they talk and talk and talk to the women then they complain that all they are doing is talking and they still aren't getting laid. So we teach them to focus on how they are presenting themselves to women and suggest they stop being afraid about physical contact.

For someone who can do this already it seems pointless. Some guys actually have trouble doing it. "Be the confident version of yourself" isn't specific enough for some people to act on. It's like saying "Cook a tasty meal". We exchange recipes here and hope that we'll all become better cooks.
