Last night I went out with some friends for my birthday. There is a strip of bars down by the water, so we all got a drink and a shot at each till we found one that we wanted to stay at. At each one we befriend either our waitress or bartender and whoever else we happen to talk to and are just having a great time.

Eventually we find the place we're going to stay at... a fun outdoor place with live music, dancing, and a lot of smiling faces. While we are here, one of my friends begins telling me that I seem different these days, and that I'm less reserved and far more social with strangers. I tell him I stopped giving a fuck and like to have fun with everyone I'm around, and I don't take it personally if someone doesn't want to talk or have fun. After talking a little longer about this, I ask him to point out anyone and I'll show him what I mean.

He points out two cute girls about 20 ft away. One of my other friends who overheard me talking decides he's "inspired" and rushes over to the set and starts talking. After a minute or so it looks like he's having a hard time, so I make my way over to help. I go over there acting like the three of us have been friends forever and just making them laugh and have a good time. Then I DHV my friend and get the girl I am least interested in talking with into a conversation with him, and I take the other a few feet away and turn her back towards her friend.

We talk for a little while, and I begin doing what just seems to come naturally now. I make her feel comfortable by keeping her smiling and laughing, I whip out my phone to show her some pictures and a fun phone app, I am sarcastic and playful, and then I bring her out on the dance floor (something I would never have done before if I hadn't taken dance lessons for a few months which really helped). We start getting closer, I kiss her neck a couple times, I play, she responds. She then starts saying she should probably go to her car so she can put her purse in it because it's really heavy and hard to dance with. I'm not ready to break a connection just yet, so I ask if I can see it for a second then I put it around my shoulder and continue dancing with her. Pretty much the textbook definition of "not giving a fuck" if you ask me. She is dying laughing, and we dance for a little while longer. I start getting looks from other girls... maybe they're interested, maybe they think I'm gay. I don't care.

I look over and see my buddy is having a hard time with the girl I left him with, as they aren't really talking anymore. So I take the girl off to the side so we can talk for a little bit and I start thinking this would be a good time to get her number and go back. Her friend (who must have been watching us) immediately comes over and looks bored as fuck. I look at my buddy and he just kinda shrugs his shoulders. Time to seal the deal and get outta here. I position myself so she has to turn away from her friend again, tell her I had fun and it was nice meeting her, then ask for her number which she gives me, and my friend and I go back to meet the rest of our friends.

TL;DR: Had fun and didn't give a fuck.
