I was out with some friends recently, nothing crazy... just a few guys getting together to chill out and getting some of the boys away from their wives for a bit. I ended up running into a girl I recently went on a date with, and she came over a couple times to chat in passing. Then on the last time by (we were getting ready to leave shortly), she pointed out that one of her good male friends noticed me and knew who I was. I had no idea who this guy was but I guess he knew me from HS (over a decade ago,) so I was about to tell her to bring him by to hang when she mentioned that he made a comment about how her and I are complete opposites and we'd never work out. I tried to play it cool saying "well, opposites attract" with a smile and that a comment like that shouldn't really matter, but I totally let it get to me in my head. For the next few minutes it was all I could think about. "Who is this guy, why would he say something like that?" I thought. My brain totally betrayed me, and I lost my fun and confident frame. In my opinion the conversation suffered. She still told me to give her a call to set something up for this week, but I still feel like I failed for losing my frame. I'd love to have come here boasting of my success with not being taken by surprise, but instead I only have a lesson to learn from. No matter how much you practice and read, nothing beats being out in the field because that's when actions speak louder than text & posts. Still have some work to do...

TL;DR: Be surprised by nothing, stay in frame. You are a confident motherfucker!
