Do something more fun than a movie... I've never really had a good experience that revolved around sitting next to the girl staring at a huge screen for 2 hours.

All attention should be on me. JK but you can't really escalate properly in a movie theater. Just saying... I'm still learning too.

I would just go confident and say, not ask. I.e.: "I'm going to be in (location), let's go see HP at X time"

Make a move. At the movies isn't the most ideal place, but it's a shared experience, go back to your/her place, or to a nearby restaurant or bar afterwards and continue there, or just go home.

Just ask her straight, "Hey xgirl, Would you like to go see Harry Potter with me, at x place, and x time?"

Don't think it over too much and worry yourself.
