Nah, once you send a message, there is no going back. Worrying about simple things like that never does any good. If you send another a couple mins later trying to fix what you sent, you look desperate. There are more important things in life than a text message or facebook message.

When I was AFC (as opposed to now, where I'm a recovering AFC) I was liquored up one night and confessed to this girl. Not three words were out of my mouth before my brain went "You knew the answer to this question, why bother asking?" I finished asking the question. Totally shot down but felt good about myself for at least making an attempt.

guys - lets be honest --- we have all fucked it up horrendously by responding too quickly etc

I will give an example...heres the background i had seen this woman twice (short meet first time, 2nd time longer more personal lots of talk about future and she was very touchy-feely) she went on a break so i text her some stuff...get a deluge of texts back from her...she said something along the lines of "we're the best of the best..." and offered some support to a problem i mentioned ...so I sent her a text saying"thanks you're 1 in a million" and sappily a photo of a flower - we had been exchanging stupid photos a bit a few days before no texts for a few days so even more stupidly i send another text trying to explain my feelings - actually quite strong for her but definitely not in love or infatuated...to date no response...so guys I guess I fucked it up

Never try to "fix it". You really don't know how the other person interpreted it, she might have liked it and then the "fix" comes out as pussiness.

If she reacts badly, just change topics, and if she insists, say "I was just joking never mind"

Whatever you do, don't send another one to try and patch it up. Sometimes if you just wait it out she will be cool with whatever dumb thing you think you said. Just don't sweat it.
