So about two weeks ago I finally managed to muster the courage to approach this cute girl who works at a booth in our local mall. I set up a coffee date which went really well conversation-wise. She thought I was rather funny and witty, which was a plus, but I wasn't able to touch her as much as I would have liked - we just ended up hugging at the end after I secured a second date. Overall, she seemed really receptive. Our second date was a movie date (very junior-high-esque, I know) but so we could at least talk a bit before the movie I had us meet up at a local ice cream shop. Eating ice cream, I opened her up in a good conversation again, made her laugh, incorporated random hand games into the interaction that got me to touch her hands, etc. Also at this point I'm gently leading her into places by the small of her back - just really light kino stuff. The movie went surprisingly well. We actually managed to quietly talk on and off during most of the movie with me doing some flirting as well. So we get out of the movie, and she's still happy as ever and very receptive to me. I walk to her to car, and the interaction basically went down like this:
*Walking to her car our conversation slows, "Okay I had a great time!" *I grab her shoulder and look into her eyes, "Hey can I try something?" "What?" she says smiling. *We kiss for a few seconds (more like a peck really) followed by a hug. *I state that "I'm terrible" for some reason and I say I'll call her later. <-- End Scene -->
So as far as kissers go, I'm an inexperienced one. But specifically, I honestly had no idea what to do when there was no tongue involved. Even if I started to run my hands through her hair or stroke her back or something I would've felt awkward having my lips hang there with nothing to do.
Anyway, a couple days later I text her asking how she was doing. No response. I wait another day and text her again asking if she wanted to do something later that week. No response. Lamesauce.
So now I've pinned it down to one of three things that could've caused this: 1. She just wasn't into me. 2. She was unimpressed with my kissing skills despite our good time so she bailed. 3. She misinterpreted the "I'm terrible" that I said with "terrible" thinking it was a judgement on her instead of me (unlikely).
Opinions here?
As stated she works in the mall, so I'm probably going to see her again because I actually work in the mall as well. So ultimately my question is this: Should I approach her at all on the subject? Just say something playful like "Okay so just one question and I won't bring it up again, promise: Was my kissing really that bad? Or have you previously gone black, and as a direct result, are unable to go back?" (half-joking on latter question, but you get the idea). The whole matter is just bothering me, mostly because I don't know what went wrong. I understand having an "abundance mentality" is important, but I'm generally curious what went wrong here. What's your guys' take? Any input would be great as I'm definitely a supreme newb in these waters.
TL;DR Kissed a girl that seemed really into me on second date. Texted but she hasn't responded. She works in the same mall as I do so eventual interaction is almost inevitable. Should I playfully approach her on the matter, as I'm curious, or just... do something else?
