A friend/Wing of mine picked up a girl last night while royally stoned and pretty drunk. It depends on your personality, but it's possible.

I have terrible dealings with drugs, and I have awesome mind blowing tales of adventures with drugs...

Uppers either make me the life and social king of the party, or they make me lock up so bad that I can't look anybody in the eye without going into an anxiety attack from hell.

Pot makes me so paranoid and unsociable I rarely even smoke it alone.

Alcohol either makes me down as fuck or ready to take on the world, depends on my surroundings and environment .

Opiates, well...opiates are good usually, however if I don't take enough I get irritable as hell and if I take too much I get very very very sick, so its a tightrope and an expensive one at that.

Benzos(xanax, k-pins and ativan) these usually loosen me up just as good if not better than beer, however they have a way of making me emotionally unstable and willing to do terrible terrible things...

I try to stay away from ALL of them, simply because for days after im going to be a wrecked mess...personality disorder and such does that to me and any substance exasperates it....

That being said I still indulge from time to time to help the social dealings along, doesnt always work or end well...(getting drunk before I saw my exgirlfriend tonight turned out to be a plus)

This will probably not help you but to answer the question: I only close when stoned. On the other hand i'm almost allways stoned. What ever works for you, i guess. I only really 'like'/am interested in people when stoned, so naturaly i only approach when stoned.

BLOTTERS
This info will also not help you: It is possible to close while on LSD, just don't tell them, ever. It should be possible to see that the pupils are to big but most people dont really notice/care with is good. (as mostly if ppl dont know something, they tend have wired concepts about it) While on acid i am not afraid of getting blown out ore rejeted becaus i'm really just curius about the person so and wont to find out things so it seem to come of naturally. You kind of get a feeling for what is "right" in belong of social situations so normaly if you turn out opening people you will have success. What does not work for me is meeting people that are drunk while i'm tripping. They often tent to seem shallow, unconscious, slow in understanding and doing things against their own will, ...

SHROOMS
Also not helping random impressions: like ĺsd but more strange and wired. My penis is verry small when tripping so i needs some time to reach a full erection. If you have a gf that like you is open to psychedelic experience, i only can incurage you in thinking bout having trippy sex. Sex only is good with people i do truely care about while my head is wide open .

BEER
The obvious: I would never drink too get laid, but thinking about it, lots of hookup happened when i was drunk (and stoned). More Alcohol hookups seem to end just as abrouptly as they started, than random hookups. Alcohol makes me seemingly act without hesitation and my 'Fixed action patterns' (ger:Schlüsselreiz??) make me acct in a way that lets me make out with a girl i met only that evening.

Vodka makes me do stupid things i often regrett like making out with the HB6 in public. Alcohol is a verry strong HB catalyst.
Often i can't exactly recall what i did, and how i met the girl. Not proud about this, if i spend some hours hanging out, getting drunk in any town, i mostly will not leave alone. I woud say i do not like alkohol and i don't really like the totaly drunk hoopups that i do, but i do it all the time, so how am i kidding...

Sober allways would be best, its a question of inner game, or the lack there of. The only thing better (for me) than me soned, probably would be me in sober, caring. Maybe some day...
I personaly dont touch Adderall and other "medicine" becaus i for one dont know mutch about them and dont think i need them. I would also be scared of developing a dependancy, if the medicin eaven works.

I like taking drugs here and there, and they do not keep me from meeting great girls. I like to travel high an it does work out for me. But i would not like to addmit to druging me to get grils.

Highly depends. Drugs are so random and variable that you really don't know whats goin to happen. The only two drugs that I've done while "Sarging" is alcohol and Ecstasy. I've had good trips and bad trips on both. Ecstasy can make me social, talk up a storm and make me approach like a machine but can also make me anti social and not care about talking to anyone.

Alcohol can make me feel confident as hell or anti-social either.

It all depends on the environment and company I keep while i'm on it. If I'm with people I vibe with then it makes it that much more positive. If I'm in a bad state of mind, then it'll make me feel the opposite.

Now, I try to only interact people while under the influence whom I have a good vibe with because it makes such the difference (for me anyway)
