I think cooking well is a nice plus but not really a fall in love kind of criteria.

I have to say that a girl that knows good fish or seafood recipes gets my attention. Cheesecake for desert is also a good plus.

Assuming you're the girl, you're asking the wrong people. Take note of what he orders in restaurants. Ask his friends what his favorite foods are. The best source of all is asking his mother.

You don't need to make the exact dish, but cooking foods he's familiar with and likes will help create a sense of familiarity that COULD help you in your primary objective.
