He didn't make a mistake.

He didn't do anything at all actually. He did the typical AFC thing and attributed it to seddit helping him. Sometimes new sedditors need some tough love to shake them awake. If you want a teddy bear hug instead of hard hitting advice try /r/relationshipadvice.

And welcome to the internet. For the past 20 years discussion forums, bbs, chat rooms have always had a mixture of helpful advice, spam, trolls and flaming. Is this new to you?

Seddit is pretty good though, 90% of replies are helpful and the ones that aren't are usually downvoted.

I know that us old timers are getting frustrated that newcomers are posting stupid questions that are easily answered by reading the sidebar first and its getting a little old to constantly reply "yes, in order to meet women, you must talk to them first and get over your approach anxiety".

Awesome then. Good for you when you do help people out. I'm still struggling with the more basics aspects of game and appreciate any help people provide. Still, being constructive yesterday doesn't give you the right to be an asshole today.

No, it isn't. What I don't get is why these comments are upvoted. One of the greatest contributing factors to reddit is the fact that downvoting and upvoting serves to filter out spam and trolling while making constructive advice more visible.

In the more visible posts, you're 100% correct. However, in these posts that get a couple downvotes and nobody ever sees there is usually just one or two comments that attack the self-esteem of the OP. I'm not saying don't criticize them, I'm saying give some context to your criticism.

Totally understandable, but instead of passive-aggressively venting that frustration at the newcomers who are coming here for help just copy/paste the same response you made in the last newcomer thread.
