I wouldnt go with the end of your opener, particularly 'i'd like to get your number'. Its suggesting that just because shes cute you will like her. Go for something like 'and i wanted to get to know you more'. The number close should come naturally, you can press for it as much as you like but as soon as you leave she wont talk to you again. Sometimes i dont even ask for a number if i think it wont be solid enough. Also when i girls says she has a boyfriend, it can be for two reasons, because she actually has one or because she feels uncomfortable... tone it down a bit and continue... build a bit more attraction then boost it up a bit more. Dont listen to anyone that says go situational, if you can open direct, do it. Its stops conversations going no where. I find when i go situational the transition to a different topic is just werid and awkward. Direct identifies what you want and gives her the opportunity to screen you, (hopefully) she will be impressed by your confidence and the following interaction. When opening direct you will have attraction... if shes talking to you after an opener like that she is attracted, you might need to boost it but its there. You need to build comfort NOT attraction. Im reading some of the comments here and really.... this is basic stuff. Seduction needs verfied users (or something) to identifiy generally good experienced advice.

Nope. Anyhow, they're bringing up the boyfriend because your combined opener/closer sucks. It's way too soon. They don't know you. Imagine some bum coming up on the street asking for your number knowing he wants to have butt sex with you.

A few FR's ago when I asked a girl for her number after talking to her for a few minutes, she said, "Hey, I have a boyfriend." Without a pause, I literally said, "Hey, thank you!" She said, "Nice...You joking, right?" And I flat out said, "No, I'm being completely serious right now. It's really nice of you to not let me waste my time. Stuff like that's happened to me in the past with girls not as honest as you. Does your friend have a boyfriend?" She said, "Umm, I don't know. Usually guys get annoyed when I say I have a boyfriend." I said, something about how I was obviously looking for girls, and thought she and her friend were nice people, but that I wasn't looking to just get around. I told her that I just wanted to have fun, make people happy, and have anything that goes down happen naturally.

I didn't think any of this up beforehand. It was all coming straight from the heart. It did work at her wanting to know more about me, and I probably should have let her become my wingwoman for her friends, but I'm still an AFC and left early.

Tangent alert. The other night I was out with a fuckbuddy and her very hot friend (HB9). I didn't try anything because the subject of HB9's boyfriend came up almost from the moment I met her (the fuckbuddy mentioned him).

I chatted with HB9 for a while about her career goals. She's in law school and I'm an entrepreneur. She wants to work with tech startups like mine. So she was very interested in a professional sense.

Anyhoo, a little while later the boyfriend showed up. We hung out for a while playing pool then went our separate ways.

Note: I'm much older than both these chicks. Probably 20 years older then HB9. While that sometimes makes me self-conscious, in this case it made me the seasoned professional among a group of wannabe lawyers.

The fuckbuddy later told me she noticed the boyfriend being much more affectionate with HB9 than usual. She thought he was intimidated by me and was asserting himself with HB9 to keep her close.

Anyway, I doubt it will ever go anywhere with HB9, but I figure it never hurts to still be the coolest guy in the room regardless of relationship status.

As it happens, the fuckbuddy is cheating on her husband with me, so you never know. (HB9 doesn't know this but maybe fb will tell her someday.)

Hmm think about it from the girl's perspective! How would you feel if a guy used a boyfriend destroyer on you? How would you feel if you witnessed it happening?

Be alpha, ask her about him? "Oh cool, well it's good to know someone else has great taste in women, what does he do?" Or "how did you meet" And then proceed to change the subject. No point in making someone feel shitty just because they aren't involved with you.

And go with situational opener. You're objective is to build attraction!
