Painting the walls of my bedroom - what color is best for pickup?

It's no doubt quite easy to be dismissive to this, but I reckon it's probably slightly more credible a question than it first seems... A purple or orange room would probably produce a negative reaction in me if I walked into one.

My personal choice would probably be a light (yellow, cream, wood-like) beige. Warm colours seem sensible, and that colour in my head isn't too garish or bright and definitely not dark -- right in the sweet spot. Also, bright colours make rooms look more spacious and free (I knew day-time TV would come in useful one day), as do mirrors. Speaking of mirrors, when I spot myself in mirrors when I'm at girls' places, they take me out of the moment -- but usually in a good and exciting way, making me think of the reality of the situation more (not so good if I think I'm looking shit today). Not sure if it's a good idea to have too many mirrors in your own place as the girl might become more self conscious.

Personally, I don't believe the colour's as important as the lighting. Make sure it's not harsh. The lighting situation has made a notable different for me in the past that I do think it's a factor -- should have put the lamp shade on earlier! Too bright and you're both more self-conscious; too dark seems weird. Nice, ambient lighting where you can see each other clearly but without noticing blemishes, etc. etc. puts the girl so much more at ease. Again, warm lighting is better.

Also, bean bags, gadgets, trophies, pillows, and plants are all staples of my place (though my place is a bona fide bomb site.) Get a rug if you're not carpeted -- it's more homely and encourages them take their shoes off (i.e. she's starting to undress ;) ).

This post has reminded me of something that I used to do, and seemed really smart at the time: I often used to put my aftershave on my pillow beforehand so that the next we met my aftershave would make her start reminiscing of the awesome sex.

Pick what you like, fuck what the girls think. They'll be cool with it, whatever it is. Doubt they'll even notice.

You'd need to know the type of furniture in the room before making that sort of decision. Interior design is all about establishing the mood of a room. I don't really think that splashing a different coat of paint will improve your chances either way honestly. Maybe some nice matching furniture and a few works of art hung up on the walls, but if she's already in your bedroom, then I don't see why you'd need help from the color of your walls to push things any further.

Safest color is a neutral gray. Light shade though, you don't want to make the room feel constricted or dark. Get something living in there as well. Wheat grass is super easy to take care of and will give a nice visual contrast to black & white funiture and neutral gray walls.

I suspect I'm going to get a ton of "THE COLOR DOESN'T MATTER" posts, but I just figured I would throw it out there anyway. I don't have a preference of any color and have little knowledge of interior design. lol

If she's seeing your bedroom wall color she's probably already interested. If you do something unique enough to talk about you might be able to use it as a hook to invite her to your bedroom to see it though.
