It's going to take you a bit of time to get back into the state you were before, but it will happen. You just need to "remind" yourself - by going out and meeting women - that you're a fucking badass with balls of titanium.

It's going to come back super quick. It's like if you're a runner, but you caught a cold and took a week to rest. When you start again, those first three runs might suck because you needed to recover, but you'll be back on top by that fourth run. Just make sure you're going out!

Never forget that you have huge balls.

This is a bit sidetracked, or at least indirectly related to seduction, flirting, or confidence, but depending on how long ago you broke up with your ex and the nature of that relationship (you called it a neediness ball) you might need some time being "you" again and have new stories/experiences that don't involve your ex or being in a relationship.
Restaurant job is also a pretty good place to work, and build this up again. Try to channel that same social interaction you want at parties to a lower degree with people you meet at your work, best case scenario you are wittier, get more tips, have more fun. Worst case scenario you feel embarrassed for 30 seconds and then never have to see that person again.
TL;DR - Maybe problem is not with personality/confidence, just need more things to talk about/impress with since leaving a long term relationship.

You're victimizing yourself.
Really, you are. I know because I've been in that situation before. I've had days, weeks, where I was impressing myself day by day, and at the end of the week, I would look back at my achievements and remind myself how fucking boss I am
Then the next week would be a slump. And maybe the next. And then finally, I would feel myself getting results again and that my game was coming back.
I realize now that I was just making myself a bitch of my own circumstances. I was seperating myself from my game and when my game was shit, I would make note of it, with no strategies to pull myself back up because we were seperate entities. I used phrases like "my game is so bad this week" or "my game is shit tonight" which doesn't only describe a very basic victimization process but also a lack of responsibility.
But since you mention your conclusion of having a distorted view of things, you're already a step in front of me. I think it's time you had some deep, inward reflection, not at the way things are but on the lens which you view them through. More often than not, it's not the situation that presents itself incorrectly but how we view it.
