I like peoples comments so far, but am noticing a rather disturbing trend of things missing from their lists.

Things that were missing from their lists:

1.) Fix your posture. A lot of people who are used to working on computers all day have anterior pelvic tilt and rounded shoulders. These both play a big role in your look and are things you should fix if they apply.

2.) Body language matters a ton. Figure out what you want to portray with your body and adapt to fit it. Things to look into are: touching your face and neck, hand gestures while talking, keeping an open position, your walking style, and any nervous behaviors you may have.

3.) Eye contact. To the person you are engaged in eye contact with it makes a world of difference. It switches you from socially awkward and not that good looking to present and attractive.

Good things they have said:

1.) Hit the gym.

2.) Get clothes that fit.

3.) Work on your hygiene.

Damn dude. Let me swag you out.

First of all just throw away the cargo pants and sweatshirts. The pockets on the pants just draw attention to your legs. You're not all that short-- but you're not tall either. You just don't need people look at your legs first. The sweatshirts on top, while first making you look like a middle aged married guy who no longer gives a damn-- also probably puffs out. So, in combo with the cargoes-- just makes you look wider and brings attention to your height.

Think sleek and vertical. The pants need to fit you-- not too tight, not too loose-- fit you. You want to look for a dark pair of straight leg jeans. No boot cut, no relaxed and baggy fit. Dark and straight. About like this. People don't need to notice your jeans. You make the jeans interesting-- you don't need rhinestones of rips or anything like that. The jeans shouldn't be the focal point. Your ugly mug should.

Instead of sweatshirts look into nice button down shirts. Solid or vertical stripes only. No horizontal, everything should be drawing other's eyes to your face. By a slim or athletic fit and consider tucking them in or having them taken in by a tailor if the shirt flairs out like a skirt. No candyass belt either. Just a nice brown or black belt with a normal buckle will suffice. It's called an accessory for a reason.

See how this guy looks. Trim, fit, no one thing is screaming for attention. I know what your thinking "where is that dude's face" that's because his clothes look good-- but it's the guy you want to know.

Also, in case popping your polo collar makes you look like a douche-- get around it, as I do by buying jackets like this and sweaters like this which has big collars on them and don't make you look like a douchebag. The collar like that draws attention to your face and, if like me, you have an enormous head if give a much needed frame to put it in proportion. If you want to wear a bright shirt underneath the sweaters and jacket's that just ads to the "look at my big beautiful face" and takes any attention away from your height.

Also-- find a nice pair of brown or black shoes or boots. That just ads to the look at my face think. No glow in the dark swooshes or anything.

The darker shades and earth tones will have a slimming effect and will make people take you more seriously... and really-- isn't it all a short guy can ask is to be taken seriously(I kid, I kid)

When you find something that really fits and looks good buy a couple of it in different colors and shades. No one will notice or care if it's the same sweater in a different color.

Just further the silliness of my analogies think of your body as the stem and your face as the bloom of a flower. What do you want people to notice most-- not your stem. Your big beaming face
