So I am teaching a French class (not in a school, rather in an informal setting here they asked me to teach) and I'll be teaching for another 2 - 3 weeks then I'll be moving to another city.

There is this HB7 there that I wanted to ask out but I thought it would be weird, after asking on /r/askseddit a couple of days ago I found a good way to ask her and I just did. We were talking after the class and I stated that even though it could be unusual for a teacher to ask a student I found her rather cute and since I was leaving anyways I would like to go out with her.

She smiled and sort of stumbled on her words then told me "yes, I mean, well I'm not looking for anything serious" - to which I said - "well me neither, I'm leaving in a couple of weeks, let's go out as friends" and she said yes gave me her # and email.

I told her I'd call her later in the week to set up the date (since I need to go to a consulate and I don't know when I'll be getting that appointment I couldn't make the date right there) and that was that.

My question is, all in all what do you guys think? What could've been better? If she flakes, well at least I asked and I feel so much better with myself about that. If she doesn't I genuinely just want to go out with her and have fun so I see it as a win-win but what about you guys?
