I told him "Alright bro, hold on one second" because I'd kick myself if I didn't say something to this girl.

It's funny how something that starts as a canned opener can actually transcend into natural thought. (At least, that's how this idea I share with you got into my being.)

The icy cold stares turn to laughs and smiles when they see how much fun you're having.

I recall being in high school (age 16, embodiment of AFC) gym class and we had to do what I perceived to be a fairly girly exercise with rings. I was up first, walked up already embarassed, did the little thing and got ridiculed. 1 minute later it's the next guy's turn, a natural, walking up he goes "YEAH, LETS DO THIS!!!" skips over there and executes the requirements with high energy, panties were dropped.

I often look back on this scenario when I feel self-conscious about doing for example some dancing. It's not what you do, it's how you do it- if you're going in insecure the self-forfilling prohpecy will kick in.

good for you man. its a good lesson for people with approach anxiety that going up to someone in the club can really pay off in the end.
