High Schooler here. Need a bit of help understanding a situation.

People do it every day. For example, you wouldn't have any trouble going up to a total stranger and saying "hey you dropped your wallet," would you?

You've got Approach Anxiety. It's pretty common. There are a lot of ways of dealing with this problem. Start by reading the links in the sidebar over on the side of this page.

But let me give you one tip. The feelings of regret over that lost opportunity, that feeling that drove you here to ask for help, will always be worse than anything that could happen if you just say hello and talk to her. If you face your fears and do it anyway, you will be fearful for only a moment.

Would you hesitate if a guy looked like he needed help? No. Why is it with a girl? Because your REAL intention would be to get her panties off...

And you know what? That is OK! It is...O...K!... You are allowed to go up to a girl, say hi, and get to know her, because you want to see her naked...crazy, huh?

Now. You just have to do it. Alot. After awhile, you won't hesitate, because it's second nature to you. Like riding a bike, sort of. The first time you try, you fall on your ass. The 2nd, somewhat better. End in a ditch. The 5 th try you end up in your neighbours garage, but what a fucking ride it was. ... 20 th time... You're rolling that hill...like a boss.

It's only as awkward as you feel it is. But seriously dude, you're in high school. That means that you're in that golden era where almost everything you do doesn't really matter. So next time you see her, go up to her, greet her and mention how you've never seen her before on the bus. Ask her how she hurt her foot, and if you can crack a joke, saying "Well, that's a boring story, we'll have to think up a better story than that."

Assuming that this is going well and she's still talking to you, try and make up an awesome story to go with how she hurt her foot. Don't just tell her a story though, ask for her opinion. Take some of her ideas, to build up her self esteem, but also shoot some of them down to neg her a bit.

Just keep smiling and joking, and try and work in finding out about her, then number close.
