Started off as an invite from a female friend to a get together at a local pub with some live jazz music. I get there and sit down next to my friend and across from HB8 whom I did not notice at first other wise I would have sat at the end of the table which would have been next to both my friend and HB8. I order my drink and it comes right away but the waitress hands it to HB8 and it turns out she ordered the same drink as me. Good conversation starter. Unfortunately we are sitting RIGHT next to the band and everyone at the table has to pretty much yell so conversation is non existent between HB and I. I've introduced myself to everyone by this point and am trying to equally converse with everyone. One more comes to join our table and I give up my seat and move to the end of the table next to HB. Now I can start conversation, light kino since I have pretty much talk into her ear to talk to her. We hit it off well, she has lots in common and she's all smiles. Our group ends up moving to a booth further away from the band and I make sure I'm sitting right next to HB. For the most part we end up talking to each other and her body language is very open to me and I'm constantly getting her to laugh. Things are going well. End of the night I lag back till the others are out of ear shot and say "coffee next week?" She says yes extremely quickly. # close

Two days latter I text her up, (actual texts) Me: How's HB this fine Sunday afternoon? HB: Feeling absolutely Brilliant Me: Brilliant eh? What makes today so great for you? HB: Many things, Starting with the weather! Me: Well perfect! We should take advantage of this weather and go to (lake close to us) HB: Can you have me back by 5:30? Me:If I must (rest is just where to pick up.)

About a 20 min drive there and back which gives lots of time to talk, we grab ice cream and sit by the lake, and then grab supper sitting over-looking the lake which ends a great evening. Not much kino, Made sure to sit beside her at supper, and I did pay for everything. She was very thankful which surprised me since most girls don't give a second thought when a guy pays. About 5 hours spent together and lots of fun to hang out with.

Date two is wings with some friends and there was one day where we texted back and forth for about 20-30 texts just about books and random things.

Tried to escalate kino at wings but never saw any signals for anything further (kiss etc). She starts texting me the next day which is a good sign. Oddest rejection ever. My reply wasn't the smoothest I could have been since I was frustrated from not being able to beat Belial on Inferno for about an hour so I wasn't in the right frame of mind. I ended up replying with Me: Thanks for letting me know. I'll keep your number for parties/get togethers since you're fun to hang around. HB: :) thanks! Truly that sounds splendid.

That was yesterday and now that I've had time to process I'm wondering if it was a shit test? Obviously intentions were clear if she assumed I wanted to date. I'm not sure what happened. Other info is that she did break up with her boyfriend about 2~ months ago and I'm not sure how much of an impact that could have on her.

TL;DR: Go to gym, get a good job, dress well, find girl, get turned down. Obviously there is more to this than that.
