So, last night I headed out to my favorite bar in town here to meet up with some close friends (mixed group of 2 guys and 2 girls) and a sedditor that I met through the wing-finder tool. I had pre-gamed a little bit beforehand (2 shots). This venue is pretty packed on Tuesdays, full of college students from the huge university in the area all dancing and having a good time. Very hipster, young atmosphere. Cool 80s music. I love it. There's a swing dance class at the uni that hits this place up on Tuesday nights. I missed the class this week but will attend next week.

Meet up with friends, walk over. We park ourselves at the bar. Dancefloor is still a bit empty.

I spot a 2-set of cuties off to the left of the floor, so I approach. Ask them if they are with the big group , they say no. I sense that they have a pretty closed off vibe, even though 1 of them is giving me slight IOIs. My sedditor buddy comes up during the middle of the set and greets me, very enthusiastic and helping with the social proof. Thanks Snake. :) Keep asking them questions, looking for an answer that I can thread off of and stop the interview mode BS. They just aren't giving me anything to play with though. Spent maybe 5 minutes in set then ejected, saying maybe I'd catch them on the dancefloor later.

Head back to the bar with my friends. My one natural buddy comments on the set, thinks I should have used an opinion opener or something more situational to avoid the interview mode. Dance floor is filling up a bit more.

I open a cute 2-set next to me, asking their opinion on this guy's crazy pants (he had a fancy 40s-style get up with these flashy black and white striped pants). They hook a bit, and we talk about the pants. They ask me if I think I could rock them, and I say "yeah, I totally could!". Boom, mistake. I qualified to them and they immediately lose interest. Oh well.

Chat with buddies some more. One of their girlfriends arrives, she greets us all and is being very touchy feely. This is a pretty attractive lady so I'm sure this helped the social proof a bit. I open a few more sets, but none really go anywhere and I hardly remember them to be honest.

Finally hit the dancefloor. Spot a cute 2-set, so I ask one of them if I can borrow her friend (my target). Shes totally OK with it, so we dance. Target turns out to be the president of the swing dancing class/club! So, I get some info from her. Seems like a lot of fun, will def. check it out next week. I wanted to keep chatting and escalate with her but it was weird with her friend there... Told her I thought she was cute, rather spontaneously, and she echoes the compliment back. Now, I know intellectually that I'm a pretty good looking guy, but it's really tough to feel the raw emotion of it for me. Compliments like that always hit some strange internal resistance I have.

Dance some more with friends. I get tired so I hit the bar. Really pretty girl with blue hair is sitting there. Honestly, I don't even remember what I opened her with. But she hooked hard. Totally opened up, we instantly started vibing. I tell her we gotta go dance, so we do! I meet her friends, they keep dancing nearby. Chat with her and spin her around some. Shes really giggly and happy the whole time! This feels fucking great.

We head back to the bar and HBBlueHair buys both of us drinks. LOL, I didn't even have to ask! Then, I isolate her upstairs. Her friends are nowhere to be seen. There's a whole lot of kino flying around. This girl is SUPER into me, and it's kinda fucking with my head.

Anyways, we chat for probably an hour. Lots more kino, she is basically pawing at me (grabbing my shirt collar and tugging me towards her when she emphasizes a point). We make out a few times, and it come completely naturally. No anxiety or thought on my part, it just happened when it felt right. She bites a little bit when she kisses. I like that a lot. ;) Somewhere in there, she offers me her number. Again, I never asked for it. Told me I made her night when I opened her, as she'd been staring at me since she entered, hoping I'd approach. Again, this is a complete mindfuck to me. I basically never get this sort of reaction from girls.

Eventually her guy friend comes to drag her away, as they are all leaving (she was with a guy and another girl). He looks pretty pissed. I greet him and shake his hand. He pretty much just grunts at me, heh. About 10 minutes after they leave she texts me "please text me tomorrow. I'm intoxicated right now but you're really cute". Huh.

At this point its nearly 2 so I pack up and head home.

Texted her this afternoon to set something up; she remembered me and sounded pretty enthusiastic. But, said she isn't free this week so we set something up for next Monday. Told her to text me with a reminder and she said "will do :)"

TL;DR Had a great time, opened probably 7-8 sets, got the most enthusiastic #/k-close I've had in a long, long time

  1. What's a good way to deal with the interview mode BS from the first set? This is a big sticking point of mine. I understand conversation threading, but I often find myself getting trapped into 20 questions anyways.

  2. Did I screw up that 2nd set because I qualified to them? What should I have done there?

  3. I had some good social proof going with my friends there, especially since some of them are attractive ladies. In you guy's experience, how important is this in the grand scheme of things?

  4. How do I replicate that reaction I got from the last girl? I understand some of it is just chemistry, but are there any other actionable items to go on here? I didn't even really push/pull or try to spike attraction. She was just really attracted from the outset, to be honest. What causes something like that, and is it even something I should be concerned with analyzing?
