As someone who knows a couple of British men quite well, trust me; not all of them have game. You have your AFCs and your faux Alpha douchebags in there as well. It's just behind an accent; the wit helps, but you got to know how to escalate and read signals.

Well, I'm English. We have a pretty unique sense of humour, although I definitely have my own brand that's different from the beaten track (it works, well though!) In the US, the second somebody hears my accent they instantly become 5 times more interested in talking to me. EVERYONE socially capable in the UK is fast on their feet with comebacks and humour to a degree. Is there a difference between Brits and Londoners though? People outside of London are shocked by the difference between us londoners and themselves.

In the UK we're usually brutally honest about everything, while reserving a base amount of politeness.

In America, politeness is everything. This is why Brits often come across as having the attractive 'no fucks given' attitude.

You're going about this the wrong way. I'm certain the AFC-to-Baller ratio is the same in the UK as in any other place. The guys you see are of the more successful, well-educated ilk who've had time to hone their skills (social and otherwise) in a variety of situations, especially since they're smart and capable enough to be traveling to different countries.

It's like how a lot of Asian/Indian kids in the US are smart; obviously, the case isn't that people of a particular race are smarter but that their parents were pretty smart (allowing them to emigrate) and their kids inherited some it - genetically or through their upbringing.

But you also hit upon a good point. As a dude who has grown with Brit TV (everything from Fawlty Towers to DW), British humor employs a delectable combination of bite and brevity.

I think I'm well-versed in British humor: I found Snuff Box hilarious whereas most of my friends found it wtf-worthy and wrote it off. When I employ British humor in conversation here in the US (as opposed to countries in the Commonwealth), most people either don't get it or find the humor abrasive or too smart/intellectual. This doesn't mean that those people are dumb but simply that they haven't bought into my sense of humor that early into the conversation.

TL;DR: It's the accent.
