Though well intentioned, this isn't true. Any belief which the answer to the question "if this were true, would the seduction community exist?" is no, is false and you need to work on yourself...

On top of which, the amount of girls that will go for you because you are chubby, vs fit is about a zillion to 1, so this advice isn't really good for people to be hearing even if it were true.
