Background information:

  • I'd advise you to check out my previous FR for background info on this girl.

Field Report:

  • Last week we had been texting a bit, talking about our plans for Firday. We knew we were going to something, we just hadn't figured out what. Thursday comes around and a buddy asks if I want to join a bbq at his house on Friday. Seizing the opportunity, I invite HB to come along. (Puts me in a good environment, I can display social value having my friends around. Also a good way of showing myself as a leader of the group -> confident frame.)

  • Friday afternoon I give her a call, asking her what she wants to eat. I was on my way to the store to pick up meat, so I just brought some along for her. I pick her up at the station afterwards. She tells me she's feeling a bit sick, having a sore throat and a bit of a headache. (Pretty good sign; she decides to come even though she's not feeling too well. This gets important later on, though.)

  • We drive to my place, pick up some more food and walk the rest of the way to my buddy. He lives really close by, so we have about 2 minutes of walking time to converse. I'm taking a commanding role, making her carry some of the stuff and walking slightly in front to show her the way. I start kino at about this point, pushing her around in a playful manner, touching her shoulders, lower back and hips. (I can kino her like that because I started with it early on our previous date and she responded really well to it, mirroring some of the things.)

  • We arrive at my friends place, I introduce her to everyone, about 3 guys and 3 girls. 2 of the guys are AFCs, the other on is in a relationship with one of the girls, so no competition. Also they're good friends and know not to mess with "my girl". We sit down together and just chat with everyone. Nothing exciting happens for a while due to me not making an effort to escalate. I didn't want to put her on the spot and kiss her in front of a lot of people she doesn't know; it didn't feel right.

  • After a while, everyone but the host, another buddy and us had left. We head inside because it was getting cold quickly. As we sit down on the couch she sits very close to me and I put my hand on her leg. She puts her hand on mine. We spend a good hour talking about really interesting stuff. She tells us about some of her hobbies, and I really like what I'm hearing. I make her laugh a lot which comes naturally for me. At one point I look into her eyes while she's laughing and she asks "What are you looking at me like that for?" When I tell her I really like the way she laughs and think she looks cute, she gives me the ol' "Awwww, thanks!" while touching my arm and blushing. (Strong IOI, I'm feeling confident about escalating by then.)

  • We continue to talk for a while, I escalate the kino a bit, pulling her hair while maintaining eye contact, poking her sides when bantering. When the other buddy checks the time and says he has to leave to catch the train, HB says she'll come along. She has to take a different train, but they arrive at the same station and time. Naturally I tell them I'll accompany them to the station. (Before leaving I hint to the other guy leaving to give us some privacy, so when we get out of the house, he says good bye and walks off quickly, while we stay back, walking a bit slower.)

  • I put my arm around her and pull her in close to keep her warm. Would've given her my jacket but I didn't have one with me. By now I'm getting a bit nervous because I wasn't able to k-close yet. I feel like I'm in a good position to kiss her, but I get a bit insecure. When we arrive at the station, I hold her close and hug her until the train comes. I wanted to kiss her, but she jumps right into the train as soon as the doors open. (I'm pretty frustrated by this, but play it off by smiling and wishing her a good night.)

  • So I'm on my way home, thinking about how I should've kissed her and how she pulled away quickly to get on the train. I think maybe I did something wrong. The rest of that night had me in a bad mood, so I went to bed quite early. Next day comes areound and after talking to my friends about it for a while, it hits me. She didn't want to give me an opportunity to kiss her because she was sick. Thinking about it now it seems so trivial, yet obvious.

The Verdict:

I think, again, I'm on a pretty good position here. I could kick myself for not kissing her earlier though. Next time I'll see her will probably be this week's Thursday. By now this is more than just picking up a random chick. She's captured my full interest. She could be the girl to put me in a LTR, and in fact, that's what I want right now. It's become more than, or rather something different, than oneities. It's not like I'm chasing after her or being hopelessly in love. I feel we're building up a strong connection, and I feel ready to commit. Also she's challenging me to capture her, which makes her even more appealing to me.
