The HB scale is not a measure of looks, it's a measure of her perceived social value. A woman who is approached every day of her life by multiple "alpha" men will require a different method than a woman who has never been hit on in her life. The HB-scale gives us some context.

You're misinterpreting the HB scale. It is not solely appearance-based.

Take a look at the sidebar... specifically this glossary.

The HB “scale” doesn’t just refer to how beautiful a woman is- it also refers to how highly she’s valued by other people, as well as how highly she values herself.

Obviously, appearance matters somewhat. But that is not the sole contributing factor to attraction, and you shouldn't worry about it beyond personal hygiene and upkeep.

Same think that I'm thinking every time i'm reading FRs. I know some girls who aren't that cute but are just awesome to hang out with. It's crazy how good they are when picking up. But on the other hand, the fact that we are always saying that looks for a guy aren't that important to a girl, is just straight damn big bull crap.

Two reasons, on legitimate and the other pure validation-seeking:

1) Because their appearance does matter - to them. Women know very well that they are being judged on their looks. The better a girl looks(/dresses), the more confident and receptive to direct flirting she is. It's a someone paradoxical thing at first glance but look at it this way: when being approached/danced with/grinded (ground? sry, non-native speaker) against is absolutely normal occurances for her, she is going to respond very well to those things. She will expect you to approach and if you can show her that you aren't one of those AFC morons, you have made yourself a rare and desirable commodity. And as has been said often, the best way to attract women is to make them attract you. Obviously the woman must at least have a sliver of hope that she can get you. (This is also the reason why you have to qualify HER once attraction is assured. Otherwise she might flake.) OTOH when she is a virgin who has never even been complimented by a guy, she is not going to feel comfortable with you, no matter what you do. The same alpha qualities of being (sexualy) dominating aren't a promise of adventure anymore, instead they are pushing her too far out of her comfort zone. tl;dr: Just like with men, amongst women there are players, there are permavirgins and there is a very diverse spectrum inbetween. Players are more likely to enjoy playing the Game with you.

2) For some reason, many men believe that women that are more beautiful are more difficult to pick up. That's why they tell us about the hot HB10++* they got a k-close with. It's a retarded way of saying "guys! hey guys! I managed to not put my foot in my mouth! and it was with a REAL woman, not one that was starved for male attention!" It's a stupid way to look at it, because they think that female AFCs would behave like male AFCs do, i.e. throw themselves at the feet of anyone of the opposite sex who tolerates their presence.
