I read a lot of post on this subreddit asking about what to talk about, how to deal with awkward silence, and all of those social anxiety stuff.
Here is my advice, and this will carry you on wherever you want to go:
Just remember, always remember... Speak your mind, say whatever that is on your mind. Be truthful about it. Say something that you won't regret later on. Get into a positive mindset that you're confident to say something without the need to worry about what you say will offend someone.
Of course, with this, you have to be work on being a good person and all of that. But once you mastered that, you will never run out of thing to talk about.
I often find myself keeping the conversation going on and on. Sometime even for days because I take the tangent out of every topic.
One example:
I usually go to work and just say hi to my coworkers, nothing fancy. But recently, I go in and ask people a question that curious me.
I asked "Do you ever feel so alone that you send an email to yourself?" Don't worry about what people think of you. You're just there for the answer. And they are probably doing that too. If they make fun of you, then they are probably asshole anyone. But there will be people that will talk to you about the topic.
But yeah, just speak your mind, be truthful, and be ready to learn.
