picture yourself in the girl's shoes. if you were a girl and you were talking to an attractive guy, would you say nothing or try to keep the conversation going?

I don't think you are providing enough details to really get an appropriate response. Are you chatting her up and she is dismissive? Are you putting out great topics but she is uneducated on them? Are you trying to talk about football when she is a tennis girl?

The reality is not every person is a great conversationalist. You asked for answers without "Don't talk to them", however without some context that very well could be the case. If it is simply a matter of the subject material you are using, or the approach that is one thing. If the woman is simply un-interesting to talk too, why put the energy into someone that you can't enjoy?

Tell them they don't seem to be saying much, and ask them to tell you about themselves. If still nothing then move on to a different girl.

You have to figure out something that they're interested in, be it some hobby, work, anything. Steer all conversation to that, and in no time the girls will go on and on. I learned that from Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends & Influence People.

Say something inappropriate or spontaneous. "Penis" or "Hookers" work pretty well. If she gets put off by it then just walk away, if she giggles then neg her about saying bad words in public places and that she shouldn't do that.

This has worked okay for me in the past, but I only use it on Randoms that I don't know at all.
