I met this girl a couple of weeks back in a pub. She's really cute and I thought we were hitting it off really well. We kissed that night, and I got her number. We met up on nights out a couple of times after that, but she never seemed like she was into me so much, as if the kiss was just a bit of fun. Honestly I didn't mind, I wasn't after anything serious and she was still a lot of fun to be around.

He friends told me she is just a really flirty person and is like that with everybody. Anyway, the second time I kissed her we were at a bar, and when we left she stayed at my flat because it was late and my flat was a lot closer.

I tried to make a move again when she was in my flat but she pulled away and then outright said 'I don't want to have sex with you'. So we just snuggled up together and watched cartoons on netflix. I brought out some alcohol from the kitchen and we kept drinking - honestly I wasn't trying to get her drunk, but we both did get really drunk. And I don't really know how it happened, but we were both kissing each other again, and then we went to my room and had sex - and I definitely used a condom.

In the morning she woke up and started freaking out. It turned out she didn't remember having sex with me and didn't know why she was naked in bed with me. She was visibly scared and asked if we had had sex. I said we had and she got really angry, saying that I should not have taken advantage of her when she was drunk. It turns out she only had sex with people after they have an std test but I didn't know that, and I assured her that we used a condom because unlike her I remembered the night.

I told her the truth, that it was consensual the whole way through and she was visibly enjoying it, but this just made her even more mad and she just left and won't talk to me again. I'm sure she's told all her friends I raped her, but as far as I know she hasn't gone to the police.

I spoke with one of my close friends about it, expecting her to understand, but she said what I did WAS rape, even if I didn't realise it at the time. She said she knew I didn't mean any harm, but I should have known better. I know she never outright verbally consented to having sex with me - in fact she said the exact opposite - but the fact that she did eventually choose to have sex with me, despite being drunk, surely means this wasn't rape?

I'm really stressed out about the whole matter and I hope the police don't get involved. And I know she must have been freaked out to wake up naked in bed with me, but I honestly don't think I did anything wrong!
