I've found some comfort in approaching people that I don't know, but what about people that I do. Part of what this community has taught me about AA is that you don't know the person, they don't know you, so who gives a fuck... but I know a ton of really good looking girls as "acquaintances".

I saw one on campus the other day, just waved and said hi. Do I automatically rule her out because she is a friend of a friend/relative and we've met before (often in the distant past)? Is there a good way to approach these or should they be avoided?
