How do I not have a diminished sense of self in the presence of "cooler" people?

Oh man I can totally relate to this. Around cool people I used to qualify myself and in when I was a real idiot I went out with some advanced guys a few times and It was nuts how strange I acted, in hindsight of course.

Anyways, its not as hard as you think it. Several things you can do. First is realize that you have the capability to be that cool guy too. Even just realizing that you can reach the level these kids are at someday can help you maintain your sense of self in their presence.

Another thing that might sound unconventional but can be HUGE is meditation. It centers you in your reality such that it makes it harder for other people to influence you. I have been meditating for about a year and a half now and I can say that it has vastly improved the quality of my life.

Ultimately though, this is something you have to figure out on your own because what subjectively worked for me might not work for you. Finally, I might add this. Spend as much time around cool people as possible. You will probably start to realize that even though these guys are cool they are just people like everyone else. They have their flaws and off days just like you and me. Don't build them up so much in your mind.

Your a cool guy too, you just have some emotional baggage stopping you from realizing it

You know yourself better than anyone and you know there are just as many things to be desired about you. The best thing you can do is not try to qualify yourself, but rather qualify them and learn from them. You will look more confident about yourself like you aren't jealous and you won't look less than then because you're not letting their success affect you, which it shouldn't.

You are comparing your B game to their A game. They aren't cooler. Think of it like this, they come around and hang with you. Thats a huge compliment. Even if you are an ugly bastard, they still hang with you. They see you as an equal, now you should.

Just keep practicing game as you get more girls you'll get more reference points and you'll climb the status ladder. I did, definitely don't get intimidated by a lot of dudes.
