So here's something I've never understood or at least haven't seen articulated, but why do women want me to be dumb? And by dumb I don't mean drooling in front of an oncoming bus, but in terms of interaction. Trying to have higher-level conversations or humor which piques my interests and sense of wonder vs. if I just say obvious shit and not try to pick their brain on anything beyond basic preferences.

What do they get out of it? Even "the smart ones" (AWALT) seem to have this preference for mundane, like they don't really want to talk at all and just do it for the sake of going through the process. The way they present themselves as a brand is "intelligent", but one on one, it's the lowest level of tinder hell in terms of back & forth. It's like they don't want me to be smart or funny, they just want to know that I can be. All of this is fine with me, I just want to know if there's ever been a "why" behind it. It disappoints me that I can't have it both ways, so I guess I'll just have to go with whatever keeps my sack empty.
