So I did my first gym approach, and the girl turned out to be from Poland - and fresh off the boat at that. I got her number, built some attraction over text (normally wouldn't but didn't have much time to at the gym), and went out for coffee late one night.

It's really difficult to build attraction when your jokes/charm don't land due to a language barrier. The date was mediocre, and I figured I wasn't going to call her again. As a shot in the dark, I suggested she come over to "meet my dog," but she declined as I expected.

Then a week later she texts me while I'm out on another date. I texted her when I got home (around 10pm) and wound up going over to her house with beers. I'm thinking something's definitely going to happen.

She's really awkward with physical contact (even hugs), so I had to do kino really subtly, and not as often as I'd have liked. She even sat at the opposite end of the couch, like she didn't want to get close. But we shared a 6-pack, talked for a long time, and she showed no indication that she wanted me to leave, even into 2am.

She definitely seemed like she wanted me there, but was showing no IOIs. Very strange. I finally said I was going to leave, and went in for a kiss (tried to build tension a bit first). She backed away!! I played it cool so it wasn't awkward, and left.

Then she texted me the next day suggesting we go see a play...she bailed on me so I ignored her for a week. Tonight she texted me that she was at a bar by herself, so I told her to come over. She did (I picked her up), and it was just as awkward. I took her up to my room and she kept her distance. Tried getting a goodbye kiss and she said "I don't kiss". I tried getting her to talk about it on the ride home but it's hard to have a coherent conversation about certain things.

I don't think she has many friends here, so I'm thinking she may just want to be friends with me. But aren't I supposed to be able to make her feel differently with what I've learnt here? I feel like I could if it weren't for the language barrier...

Any tips for:

1) Dealing with a really thick language barrier

2) More importantly, dealing with someone who is kino-averse
