I'm a bit conflicted about this lately. There are advantages and disadvantages and depends on what your goal is.

I usually coax a girl to my place with the idea of watching a movie and drinking some wine. But for the most part a girl coming to a guys home for a date has already shown her intention to sleep with you. My success rate when bringing someone to my house is very high. I have the power, I am in control. I bring her drinks, I get her to my bed, she asks me where the bathroom is. But after doing this routine a million times I'm a bit bored with it. It is more exciting to go to someone elses house and to try things in a new environment.

Most importantly, it is my opinion that if the goal is just to sleep with someone, you want to bring them to your bed. But if your goal is to start a relationship with them then go to theirs. Of course this is not an absolute rule, but let me explain my reasoning. A girl is clearly going to be more comfortable at her place than yours. After you have slept with a girl you will lose some of your mystery to her, but if she has yet to be in your bed, you still have some. And, it also makes it look like sleeping with her was not your evil plan all night long. When a girl comes over, and I am doing the things I do, it becomes pretty clear what I'm after. But at her place it becomes her fault, for a lack of a better word.

So yes, you have more power at home. But if you can remain powerful over at her house and she has the comfort of home, then it is a better position.

I think the most important thing is to make the night not end where it began. If you just want a lay, bring her over, use your same methods over and over again to get her to take her clothes off, and then do it. But these girls generally won't stick around. You need to make sex seem like the culmination of events, not the event itself. Go out, dance, go to the beach and take your shoes off, try an exotic restaurant, THEN take her clothes off. She'll be hooked.
