No, this is a bad move. Maybe someone else could tell you why in better detail, but my instincts are all against it.

Getting a number is an admission that she would want to hear from you and that you can set up your next interaction. Giving your number is leaving it all in her hands. You have to take the lead, and that means being able to contact her on your terms, not waiting for her to do so.

Before you go talk to her, open your phone's "new contacts" page. Then chat her up, and before you leave, hand her your phone and say "Here, gimme your number" or something like that.

So this is a few hours behind, hopefully you've already asked and got her number, but if not...

Depends on how much you really like her. If you really want to get this girls # (ie: you like her a lot) get her number. If it's just a numbers game (getting as many girls numbers as possible) just give her yours.

You say a 'quick timespan'...I would suggest bringing whatever your going to say right as your about to leave her. This way she doesn't have a ton of time to react and give some kind of bogus decline. But ask in playful way, not agressive.
