The night began with arranging a few friends to meet me out at the bar. I always try and rally up a group of my friends, whether they all know each other or not, because this will help with social value at the bar and even amongst your friends, especially when they realize that they don't know everyone in the group but they're all connected through me.
Anyways, the whole night I focused on having a good time with friends and not hooking up or trying to pick up girls. This is my attitude EVERYTIME I'm out at the bar. Stop caring about going out and trying to meet girls, if you're having fun and your focus is out of gaming, it will happen. It's a certainty.
I walk up to the bar to order a drink where I spotted an open spot next to a blonde HB8 anxiously waiting to get noticed to put in a drink order. Luckily, I'm cool with the bar tender on a first name basis(guys, please get to know your bartenders at your most frequented bar. It's ridiculous the amount of benefits this has) and I have a little trick up my sleeve. Here is the interaction.
Me: "You look like you've been waiting a while for a drink."
HB8: "You have no idea!"
Me: "Tell you what, lets play a game. Whoever gets their drink order in first wins and the loser has to pay for this round."
HB8: "haha, at this point I'll do anything, deal!" (Now, remember I know my bartender, so I call her name to get her attention)
Me: Cait! (I wave over, Cait the bartender comes, I give her a quick hello/kiss on the cheek and put in my order, while I point at the HB8 and she puts in hers)
HB8:(slap on the arm) "Not fair! You knew her name!"
Me: "I didn't say I play fair" (with a slight grin and eye contact)
Cait the bartender arrives with our drinks and I tell her to put both of them on my tab.
HB8: "I thought I was supposed to pay this round, I lost."
Me: "I told you, I don't play fair" (we cheer our glasses and I say nice meeting you with a smile as I leave)
I didn't ask for her name. I didn't continue the conversation. Why? Because I'm here with my friends, remember! So I head back to them confidently knowing I instantly became the most interesting guy in the bar to HB8 because 1. I'm cool with the bartender and 2. I bought her a drink out of pure niceness and didn't try to get in her pants for it.
About a half our later I walk towards the restroom, and as I pass by HB8 she grabs my shirt, turns me around and says "You, I never got your name!" "Easy_Reminder" I respond. We get to chatting and this is the moment I've been waiting for. I start building some rapport and we get to genuinely get to know each other. I move us outside where we can better hear each other and half way through the conversation I got her number. Eventually I need to head back to my friends and end the night. We say our goodbyes and arrange for a date later in the week.
And that's about it for now. What I want you to take away from this FR is that the important thing about gaming at a bar is to not focus on gaming at a bar. If that makes sense. Have fun, invite your friends so you know everyone, and do things other guys don't do. Like buy drinks for a girl without the part of trying to get her in your bed that night or getting to know her whole life story after buying her that drink. Have fun and take whatever the night gives you. Even if its a just a number close or nothing at all.
