Here is the simple truth. All you have to loose in this situation is a false sense of pride. You know next to nothing about this woman and that gives you infinite power. You can say anything. Just talk, if she doesn't like you, then all that has died is a false sense of ego.

As a girl with the same issue, I feel you. I have gotten more confident, buy still don't see myself as pretty. My advice for you is to just put yourself out there. I know it can be hard. But of you just talk and flirt, that is a good start. I have found that I am more comfortable starting with a conversation.

Once I get to know the guy, I will flirt with him. But the best way yo how interest is with touch. Not saying anything inappropriate, but touch her arm when talking. Something to that effect. I know that a guy touching my back when talking to me, or my arm, or something like that has helped me notice when he is interested.

As to the girl at the pharmacy, every girl is different. If she was flirting with you she most likely would not have minded you asking to get to know her or on a date. Again, every girl is different, but it never hurts to ask. I hated when guys asked for my number at my last job. But only the ones that asked when we had talked, not flirted, for a few minutes. It was a little weird. And I'm sure most of the reason they did was because of where I worked.
