Are you sure you are getting those or are you misinterpretting their signals? Kiss closes can be done quite fast if you kino, slow down and build some sexual tension. You can try triangle gaze, but I've found it to be next to useless, where as setting up context, holding them (hands or hips), and slowing down to create tension is way more consistent.

Technique aside, you really just have to accept that you are going to feel awkward and think its too early and just GO FOR IT.

If you are looking for a technique for getting around that... it isnt going to happen.
