I think this falls under that whole "You don't ask a fish how to catch fish" thing. The trick is to make her not feel uncomfortable when you approach her in one of those non club/party settings. If you are creeping her out, you're doing something wrong.

Lol. Quite the straw askwomener you have set up there. Kidkvlt is spot on right here I don't want random men approaching me on the street or on a bus. I'm fine with being approached in a bar, at a party or some other social setting. Sums up the approach thing for me. I'm not giving my number to or calling someone with whom I've had a 2 minute or less interaction on the street. This subreddit has certainly gone over this before and it fell upon deaf ears so I guess we're doing it again. For many women (not all) the street is not an ideal place to meet people. Many women prefer talking to someone and getting a sense of who they are first before agreeing to further contact. One does not need to be a shrinking violet or a victim of anything in order to want to have some very basic conversation first. This is easier to achieve at a bar, party, cafe, class, work, through friends, volunteer work etc. Obviously I need to be attracted to somebody. Being attracted to a guy does not mean he's Ryan Gosling's long lost twin. Everybody has different standards. And yes I need to be attracted to both personality and looks. Mind blowing, isn't it? Some women don't feel comfortable making the first move. Others are fine with it. I see a lot of people cherry picking answers. You've managed to cherry pick options out of several attributes. Obviously people are getting together. Just look at the engagement announcements in your local paper or couples in resteraunts or how many women here are dating someone.
