Before I start, I know about Tofu's above the game and have read all of the stuff available on giving value. But for some reason, I just don't get it, and I would really love help on fixing this.

I think that this is probably where a lot of people are getting stuck on inner game--or at least I am. The basics of giving value boil down to being a positive, abundant, and powerful--in the sense of having multiple things of value--person. Now, to do this, you cut out negativity and do things that make you abundant and powerful--like being more knowledgeable, funnier, socially well-known, etc. Anything that you can contribute to an interaction. Am I right so far?

But what then? What I'm stuck on is how to give that value and who to give it to. Does there need to be an equal exchange? I know that this seems like value-taking, but does the other person need to provide anything back? Otherwise you end up looking like a tool. Anyway, I'm confused on this part and would love some advice from you guys. Thanks!
