I have been single for over 5 years now, and not for lack of trying. Any general advice to help me progress in this part of my life?

Don't go searching for a relationship. Search for women who you enjoy spending time with and just go on dates casually. Date multiple women at the same time, and one of them may develop into something. Searching for a relationship is a surefire way to be disappointed.

From the information you've given (2 sentences) it's hard to give advice. But it sounds like you just want 'a relationship' instead of living your own life and eventually creating value with another person who also has their own life.

Do you have hobbies, interests, passions? It seems a silly question, but lets hear what you do focus on.

Your worrying is the cause:

Pixar makes the most creative films in the world. Is it because they have guys tirelessly worrying behind office cubicles trying to hit a deadline before the date?

No, it's because Pixar has a worry free environment.

If you read about great inventors, great mathematicians, thinkers, businessmen; they tend to get their best ideas overtime, automatically, without worrying, straining, or pressing.

Why am I telling you this?

Well, when you are worrying about "how come I'm not in a relationship, how come I'm not worthy"; not only are you blocking your subconscious from it's job into automatically achieving your goals; you are actually telling your subconscious mind to SELF-DESTRUCT, if a relationship opportunity is in front of you.

When you worry about this, you tell your subconscious mind that it's out of your grasp, and your subconscious says : "Computing, New Goal, create habits to avoid relationships/END"

Basically, your mentality is basically programmed for failure. The cool thing is, you just as easily feed it with ideas like "I am fit for a relationship"; tie those ideas with the emotions of confidence and accomplishment, and you'll attract a multitude of women.

Why?

Because we are the same exact age. I was 25 years old, with a dead-end job, living with my parents jacking off to porn every night; to attracting an abundance of beautiful women and now I'm living on my own, starting my own business, and with the woman of my dreams.

BTW: these principles aren't out of my ass I applied the principles in these books; which are in fact are the sources of most motivation books today.

Write down 5 of your best friends.

If ( you can't right down 5) Write down things you can do or places you can go to meet people. Go do those things and meet more people

Else

Improve yourself in other areas (for yourself: not to impress(get validation from) others)

The rest will fall into place assuming you stay true to yourself and stay within social norms.

This is only if you are looking for relationships and do not have an issue of only being able to focus on the end result of sex.
