Approaching in front of her group of friends

I was just listening to an audio recording by Paul Janka describing what to do in this situation. He described seeing a woman in a bar early in the evening, and it was obvious she was the center of attention of her group of friends. He did a cold approach. He came up to the edge of the group, where his presence as a stranger would become known to her (since she was the queen bee). Once he got eye contact, he looked at her, gestured to beckon her, and said, "hey, come here." And she did. He told her, he didn't want to really deal with all her circle just now, he was on his way out, but he'd really like to see her sometime. He got her number, and left.

So just be bold. Go up to her and say, hey come here. Don't ask her, tell er. Yes, all her friends eyes will be on you. SO make the best of it. Don't embarrass her or try to seduce her in front of them, just make the contact and set up the future meeting, and get out of there. Yeah, they will talk about you after you leave, so go in, do the job smoothly, and get out.

As others have said, do not ask her out in front of her group of friends. That puts everyone in a really awkward situation. Get her alone to do it. If you can't find her alone, make her be alone with you per the advice below.
