"Alpha male" is just another way of saying "leader personality". And contrary to popular belief, it's not really something you develop or become. You're either a leader, or you're not. It's an inherent personality type, with its own set of personality flaws. Because while an alpha excels at leadership roles, he absolutely sucks at anything else. These are the same guys who ultimately have trouble adjusting to low-rung positions in jobs, have issues with authority (which frequently gets them into legal trouble, hence the number of "bad boy" alpha males out there), have frequent conflicts with their bosses, and who pretty much suck to work with unless they're the ones in charge. Sticking an alpha male in any other position besides leader is a recipe for disaster. He's going to either make things exceedingly and needlessly difficult, fuck up the tasks he was assigned, or try to usurp authority from the person above him.

There aren't a lot of actual "alpha males" out there, because there can only be so many group leaders. Maybe 5-10% of the population is actually alpha. And that's totally okay. If the world were full of alpha males, exactly nothing would get done. So don't besmirch the beta male; he's the everyman. He's the guy who knows his job and does it well. He's dependable, consistent, and won't be a complete pain in the ass when he's not in charge. He's pretty much every guy you've ever met. You're probably a beta male and don't even know it. Most women end up with beta males, and they're perfectly fine with it. They may find the alpha male's dominance alluring, but they'll ultimately have no issues with a beta male as long as he's got confidence.

Gamma males, on the other hand, are a different matter. They're the underdeveloped, whiny, entitled douchebags who everyone's met at some point or another. They're the so-called nice guys, the white knights, the crybaby emo kids who every girl dreads, but somehow manages to end up with in spite of herself. Gamma males are growing more common lately, as the combination of changing social norms and bad parenting have spread it like a disease. Gamma is unique in that it's not a true personality type in itself, but more a combination of flaws that form a sort of meta-personality type that latches upon the base type like a tumor. Fortunately, unlike other personality types, gamma can be fixed.

My guess is that females that opt for beta males would be a rarity at less than 5% of the population, just because their default setting is to be attracted to the alpha male.

But there might be a larger group of females who are stuck in situations with beta males, because they might not have much of a choice in picking suitors, simply because being females, if they see a guy they want, they might not be aggressive enough to make a move. She might say she wants the alpha dude, but unless he pushes his way into her life, she's out of luck.

And finally, there's a group of women who are successful and independent, and so they have a tougher time getting along with the alpha male. They get spoiled and used to getting their way and giving orders, so because of their situation, they come to realize they can only get along with a beta male. But their sexuality is still tuned to alpha, so beta guy probably has to beg for every crumb because she is not able to enjoy having sex with him. What a sad situation to be in.

You are taking analogies and terms too far.

You can't boil down the complex decisions of a vast group of individuals (any girl that would opt for what YOU consider a beta vs what YOU consider an alpha) to a simple decision tree like this.

Maybe the "Alpha" had perfect teeth, and the "beta" had crooked messed up teeth, and the girl has a thing for guys with bad teeth. Or a million other situational things.

The models are there to to conceptualize a lot of fuzzy variables, not turn human behavior into a flowchart or assign reasons to specific situations.

What observations have led you to this? I don't think any of it is true, at all. No girl goes out thinking "man oh man I hope I can find some beta pushover tonight to get into a relationship with so he'll never leave me."

Sorry man but I think you have some seriously wrong perceptions here.
