Thanks to this community for helping me get back on track. I'm out of a 4 year LTR and started dating weeks afterwards with a great girl. I had some thoughts about putting a girl on a pedestal and wanted to get some feedback.

One of the issues I noticed out of my LTR was that I put the girl on a pedestal. I knew it but I didn't know how I got there or what to do about it. The challenge I was having was figuring out where I went wrong and how what to do about it next time.

The Start - Accepting bad behavior What I had noticed was that I was accepting bad behavior in the big picture, not daily things. Shit tests were not a problem. If you fail at these, your girl will be gone in a short amount of time. These are just to test the waters.

The challenges I was experiencing are long-term challenges: I wanted her to work, get an education or start a business - just do something. Help with the housework and have sex. None of these were getting met and I let it go on without real consequences.

When I accepted her long-term bad behavior without any consequences, it subconsciously lowered my value in her mind and made me less attractive.

What to do about it when it comes along Call it out immediately and deal with it there. Dealing with it depends on whatever bad behavior it is that you are dealing with. So if she said she was going to do something and she doesn't, call her out on it. Most of the time even noticing is enough.

How does this translate to the big picture I think most guys just want to find a great girl and have a relationship with one woman. But the woman needs to be able to TRUST the man. Not trust as in telling the truth. Trust as in doing the right thing when the time comes. That is, if/when kids come along, are you going to allow the kids to walk all over you, or are you going to do something about bad behavior? How do you handle bad behavior. Do you blow up and beat the crap out of her/kids or do you talk and lecture, do you crack a joke and give them a verbal slap?
